BASAK CANKES CONTEMPORARY ISTANBUL
Basak Cankes achieved the success of being the first designer who attended Contemporary Istanbul for the second time. Basak participated as an artist of Gallery Baraz this time, with her paintings called “To Grow Up” prepared by mixed technique.
In almost each collection Basak gets to work with creating an artwork first. For the Ballerina’s Hidden Dream collection, she reinterpreted her old point shoes by creating a work of ceramic ware. She surprised audience by showing construction phase of this work in simultaneous with wearable art experience of the collection in Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Istanbul.
Basak Cankes and her collaborative artists designed hand-painted Turkish Hammam slippers line as a part of Entrada De Gala En El Haren collection, which is inspired by adapting surrealism of Salvador Dali paintings into Turkish Miniature Art.read more
